Description

Creative Conservation, LLC is a land use and environmental consulting firm dedicated to creating positive land use models in Maine and elsewhere.  Creative Conservation,    LLC works with private landowners, non-profit organizations, and government agencies to foster the wise use of land and natural resources.  Jerry Bley founded Creative Conservation, LLC in 1990 after working ten years as a land use specialist for the Natural Resources Council of Maine, a statewide conservation organization. Creative Conservation’s services include:

  • Land Use Planning and Creative Development.  Creative Conservation works with landowners to plan the future use of their land including development, recreation, resource production, and natural area protection.  It strives to meet both the economic and conservation objectives of the landowner.  It can assist landowners through all phases of a project from conceptual planning through regulatory permitting.
  • Planning the Future of Family Lands.  Often, families that own valuable properties need outside assistance in deciding the future of their lands, particularly in estate planning or post-inheritance situations.  Creative Conservation provides land use expertise while helping to facilitate the decision-making process among family members.

Creative Conservation, LLC has been involved with farmland protection projects around Maine (and to a lesser extent Northern New England) working both for farmers as well as for organizations like the Maine Farmland Trust and is familiar with agricultural easements and farmland conservation funding sources.
